HELP NON MUSIC TEACHER WITH OBSERVATION

  • Hi Lynn, I teach Kindergarten Music in a Public School, but I am not a certified Music Teacher.  I have an observation coming up in November.  I need help.  I am teaching high/low; pitch matching; instruments; and steady beat in November. Steady beat is just continue to practice, not a new concept.  I have to design a 40 minute lesson that includes differentiated activities  Help!  I am not sure what to do.  Can you lead me in the right direction?  I always start my lessons out the same way.  We walk in to a song.  Then we sit on the carpet and sing an echo song - Welcome to Music.  Then we match the teacher's voice with a song to find our bear Stuffy.  I then thought I would do your owl lesson for high/low sounds.  Then I wanted to use the Turkey Feathers song for matching pitch.  Then I was going to go into the Shoo Turkey.  The week before we will have completed the Sound Shapes activity.  How do I differentiate?

    Help!

Lynn Kleiner and you want everyone to have a solo. In that case, I would do more than the three plus three solos you hear in the recording. I would many colors before singing the chorus again. Stating your objectivies and showing that you have ways for assesment (...  more
