Ukulele video lesson, songs and chord chart

  • Why ukulele ?

I enjoy playing the guitar but traveling for workshops and concerts as well as to a variety of schools with my guitar was difficult, especially the flights! Switching to the ukulele lightened my load! It weighs so much less than my guitar and it doesn’t take up as much room in the car or the plane. On flights, I have been very pleased that I have never been questioned about carrying a third bag aboard. I have my computer bag, my purse and my uke with me without a problem. (Let’s hope that this continues now that I’m bragging about it!) In fact, I often get positive inquiries about the little instrument hanging over my shoulder.

The ukulele is not only easier to transport, it is easier to play than guitar. First timers learn chords faster and sound better on the 4 string ukulele in the first few lessons than they do on the 6 string guitar. New teachers are more confident to begin using it in the classroom. Maybe it’s the comfortable size that brings all that confidence.

This is a happy little instrument that brings joy to all who play it and hear it.

The video lesson refers to a "Hello Song" called Tideo. Look for the song Tideo in Downloads under Songs. The song is free but follow the shopping cart as if making a purchase.
